Doctors suspended for taking selfies during a surgery (Photos)

August 06, 2018

A team of surgical staff got suspended for taking selfies mid-operation and posting them on social media.

The group of medical professionals, including the surgeon, anaesthesiologist, two surgical assistants and a surgical nurse, work at the Hospital San Jose de Capilla del Senor in Argentina. The images were taken during an operation and shared on the social media account of one of the surgeons, Lorena Olguin, who works in the gastroenterology area of the hospital. The photos show the medical team looking at the camera with their surgical masks and gowns on.

One of them shows three of them standing over the patient lying on the operating table, and another with the whole team showing the equipment used in the surgery and bits of gauze with blood on it. The hospital authorities say they have suspended all of those shown in the photo because they consider it irresponsible behaviour.

I never wished to be a single mother – Uche Ogbodo

August 06, 2018

Nollywood star actress, Uche Ogbodo has opened up on how sad it is being a single mother.

In a chat with Saturday Beats, the actress who recently achieved a major feat in her weight loss journey, also emphasised that she never expected she would ever be a single mother as she described herself as someone who appreciates marriage and believes in building a family with her man.

Uche Ogbodo said, “It hasn’t been easy raising my daughter alone, I never ever wished I’d be a single mother because I am a family person and I am someone that has always loved marriage and raising a family.

It’s sad for me; sometimes I cry over it because it is not easy raising my child alone. There were times when my daughter asked me about her father and I don’t know what to tell her.

“It is one of the hardest things I have had to deal with emotionally and psychologically but it has made me stronger. I think it is my destiny to have her; God used her to open another chapter of my life. She is a very strong motivation to who I am now.”

The fitness enthusiast also told Saturday Beats how she was motivated to shed some fat.

“I had lots of motivation to lose weight, I always like to look beautiful and comfortable and I needed to take back my place in my career. Another major reason is because I didn’t want to be too out of shape because of my career; I didn’t want to be seen as old in the entertainment industry.

“My boyfriend always motivated me to lose weight. He used to tell me that I am beautiful and I needed to show it. I also didn’t want to lose him at that time, so since he was interested in skinny girls and deep down inside me, I am a skinny girl in a fat body; I had to shed some weight to feel better.”

Widow photoshops late husband in maternity shoot to show he will always be with them (photos)

August 06, 2018

A young mother who lost her husband decided to include him in her maternity photoshoot, so she had him edited into the photos to show he will always be a part of their small family.

Stephanie Maynetto-Jackson was married to 28-year-old Stuart Jackson and they were expecting their second child. Sadly, he died in a tragic motorcycle accident when Stephanie was just 18 weeks pregnant. The couple, both Army veterans, were just two weeks away from learning the sex of their baby before Stuart sadly passed away.

As the birth of her baby neared, Stephanie planned a maternity photoshoot, one that will include her late husband.

She told Metro.co.uk: “The shoot was honestly a very difficult day for me because those days make it seem a bit more real that Stuart is no longer physically with us.

“He loved taking photographs and documenting our journey. He did great both behind and in front of the camera. He was a natural and had a smile that could brighten any room. He definitely passed that along to both of our sons.

“I was inspired to do the shoot because I wanted our son to have maternity photos that would always remind him that Stuart and I both planned for him. We wanted to bring him into this world and he should know that he was loved from the very beginning. He won’t have memories with him but this was a way for him to cherish this time in our lives.”

The stunning pictures have now been shared all over the world, with many people praising her courage and strength.

Stephanie gave birth to her second son on 17 May. She called him Stuart II, SJ for short.

“I Feel Bad For Men Who Have Never Date Non-Nigerian Ladies” – Man

August 06, 2018

A Nigerian man has taken to his Instagram page to blast Nigerian ladies who are entitled narcissist, feels money and gifts are her rights even when she does absolutely nothing.

Read what he wrote below;

“I honestly feel bad for Nigerian men who have never experienced relationships with non-Nigerian ladies and I’m not talking about overseas.

Even Ghanaian or Kenyan women. The AVERAGE Nigerian woman is a self entitled narcissist, who feels money and gifts are her rights even when she does absolutely nothing for you, not even hold a good conversation either in person or via text, typing like someone with epileptic seizures with the annoying abbreviations.

The average Nigerian woman will go on a date with every Tom, dick, Harry and all his uncles just for a chance to get a free meal and movie tickets. The average Nigerian woman sees spending her money on dates as a Taboo, but is quick to talk trash about having “vex money”, lol nobody cares about your vex money, come with actual spending money.

In conclusion the average Nigerian woman is a pest with nothing to offer but headache and hassles. Thank you for reading. God bless”

“Do you know how many houses I have in Lagos alone?” – Mercy Aigbe’s ex-husband, Lanre Gentry reacts to her latest achievement

August 06, 2018

It is no news that Mercy has been doing well for herself since she left Gentry. She recently bought a house in Lagos and opened a new store in Ibadan, among other achievements. This has led many to insinuate that Gentry is jealous of her success.

In a chat with Sunday Scoop however, Gentry vehemently debunked the insinuations. He said, “I have no reason to be jealous of the fact that Mercy bought a house. Do you know how many houses I have in Lagos alone? I am not jealous of anyone because God always makes me happy.”

Responding to a question on whether there are any reconciliation plans in the offing between them, Gentry said, “I am not angry with her and we are not fighting. We are together and we will always talk.”

But is he willing to take another wife? Lanre said, “I have no plans to do that for now because I am still legally married to Mercy but time will tell. I am waiting to hear from her (as regards dissolving the marriage legally).”

Speaking on his recent face-off with Zone 2 Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, Dolapo Badmos, in which he enjoined her to counsel her celebrity friends in Nollywood to stop living fake lives after she made a post online warning people to stop living misleading lives, Gentry said, “Dolapo is my very good friend and a very nice police officer. I just told her to talk to all her friends in the Nigerian entertainment industry that live fake lives that they should desist from doing that.”

On why he didn’t reach out to her privately instead of giving the ‘advice’ on social media, Lanre said, “What I wrote was an answer to her post on Instagram.”

Recently, Aigbe congratulated herself on Instagram for the role she has played in her children’s lives on Father’s Day. No sooner had she made the post than Gentry posted a comment, stating that he takes full responsibility for their child together, Juwon, and Mitchell, the daughter Mercy had before getting married to him. Asked to comment on the issue, Lanre said, “Mercy and Juwon are my property.”

I’ve never dated anyone all my life, but am not a virgin – Actress Amara Maduka

August 06, 2018

Chubby actress, Amara Maduka, is gradually becoming one of the most sought after in the movie industry.

In this interview, the Anambra State-born role interpreter speaks on her career, love life and challenges of being a plus-sized thespian. Enjoy it.

Can you briefly tell us about yourself?

I’m Amara Maduka, from Anambra State. I’m from a family of three. I’m the first daughter and second child. I’m an actor, writer and aspiring producer.

How long have you been acting?

I have been acting for five years now.

Can you mention some of the movies you have done?

I have featured in Maduka Daughters, Village Flavour, Okirika, The Israelite, Good Marriage, and Three Bad Girls, to mention a few.

How did you join the movie industry?

I joined the movie industry after leaving school. I knew I have the talent and I decided to pursue it.

What were the challenges you faced at the early stage?

My weight was a big challenge. I was very fat at the time and I didn’t get featured in roles I knew I could deliver, because all the producers saw was a fat, ugly girl. Not my talent.

How did you overcome it?

Oh well, when you get tired of being fed bullshit, you have to make a change at some point. All that matters is how you see yourself. I knew I am more than what they could see and that image alone kept me going.

Did it make you depressed?
I battled depression at some point. But like I said, if you know who you are, nothing can stop you. Not for too long.

Sexual harassment is a common trend in the industry, how did you scale through?
I haven’t been sexually harassed by any producer, I’m one of the lucky ones.

Did you hit the gym or work on your size to fit in?

I didn’t work on myself to ‘fit in’. I’m working on myself for me. I love to look good. And I’m only just getting started.

How supportive were your parents when you took the bold step to join Nollywood?

I have just my mom now. My dad wouldn’t have allowed it, but my mom is supportive.

You lost your dad?

Yeah in 2012.

Did your boyfriend at that time give you the go ahead?

I’ve never really dated anyone all my life. It’s funny but true. I’m just learning to truly give love a chance now.
